The main person hiring must be aged 18 years or over. Identification must be shown with proof of address on the day if requested. Young children and babies are more than welcome, we have suitable buoyancy aids.
Dogs are more than welcome. Small charge applies.
The marina offers FREE car parking for our customers.
Upon making a booking enquiry a response will be sent to confirm if the date/boat etc. you would like is available. The payment details will be included in the response. If you wish to go ahead payment will need to be made in full upfront confirm the booking.
Payment can be made via bank transfer, by card payment over the phone, via PayPal (please add 3.4% for the fee), or by cheque made payable to ‘Severn Expeditions’.  We are trying to avoid payments by cash where possible at the moment but can accept if this is the only way you can pay. (Note: If paying by cheque please allow enough time for cheque to clear).
Upon receipt of the payment, an email confirmation will be sent which includes details of where to come on the day, what to bring and what to expect. A copy of our boat e-booklet and maps will also be attached so you can plan your trip. We can of course give advice on the day.
DAMAGE SECURITY DEPOSIT
Please Note the Hirer will be required to leave their card details on the day of hire. This is for insurance purposes and will be returned for them to destroy on safe, clean and timely return of the boat and the rest of our property. If you are not comfortable leaving card details then alternatively you would be required to bring £100 in cash, which will be sealed in an envelope and kept until the end of your trip.
Please note we do get very busy during the high season and receive a lot of enquires. We will only keep potential bookings pencilled in the diary for 24 hours. If you change your mind, please let us know as soon as possible so the slot can be offered to the next person. If we don’t hear from you with in that time with payment to secure your slot, we will have to remove booking.
The boat must be returned to the same location from which it was hired, and it is your responsibility to allow sufficient time to ensure timely return. If you are late you may be charged.
If you need to cancel or make an alteration to your booking, you should advise the company by telephone ASAP. Any cancellations made 7 days or more before the date of hire are free of charge. For any cancellations or alterations to a booking which are made within 7 days or less of hire, up to 24 hours before the hire, there will be a charge of 50% of the hire cost. On the day cancellations will be charged 100% of the booking fee. Unforeseen or mitigating circumstances may be considered at Severn Expeditions discretion. If we can get a slot re-booked, then we may just charge a £10 admin fee. (Please note, we will always do our very best to get a cancelled slot filled but we are a small business so must also look after our interests.) No shows will be charged 100% of the booking fee with no possibility of re-booking.
In the case of flood risk the Business operates on a traffic light system as advised by the Canals and River Trust: Green = no flood risk and boats can go out. Amber = only skippered/guided trips can proceed as self-drive boats lack enough power in the engine. Red = no hire boats can go out. In Amber or Red conditions, the Hirer will receive a full credit which they may use to reschedule their booking. Or they can request a full refund. If a booking is being re-scheduled, the revised date must be booked and the trip taken, within one year of when the deposit was originally made and cleared to the business. After this period the deposit will be lost, and the booking agreement cancelled.
We reserve the right to cancel the hire and refuse to hand the boat over to you if, in our reasonable opinion, you are unsuitable to take charge of the boat for any reason that may adversely affect the safety of any person, persons, or property. In such a case we shall be entitled to retain 100% of the hire charge already paid.

We reserve the right to terminate the hire at any time and repossess the boat if we have reason to believe that you are operating the boat in an unsafe manner, not behaving responsibly, or if you have contravened any of the bylaws of the Navigation, or the terms of the contract. All monies paid, including the security deposit, shall be forfeited and no further claim shall be entertained by the company.
